Semester 1 Painting Reflection

When I make art I like to look for inspiration by color. Depending on my mood I either like to paint things black and white or things with many different colors. Art is anything really. Anything created/designed/imagined by a human being. To mean, art is anything beautiful, words, pictures, people, thoughts. I like taking pictures from beautiful places and giving them a sort of unrealistic appearance.

When I'm painting a picture, post of my decisions are spur of the moment. I have an original idea that I reference from but as I start to create I mess around to see what looks the best. I like to work with water colors when I paint the best. I like how the colors blend and are very delicate. I also like to be able to see the layers in the paint.

I need to work on smaller detailing and shadows. I think painting a self portrait would be very cool but I'm not sure I have the talent for that yet. I hope to be happier with the way my pieces turn out next semester. I'm very proud of my still life and how realistic it looks. It's a little unproportionate, but I think it is the best painting I have created thus far first semester.
